This all-mountain freeride ski with its cutting-edge design offers a wide range of uses for experienced skiers who love wild turns, both on and off-piste. Like the new Mantra and Kenja models, the Kendo 88 features a revised geometry and a 3D Radius Sidecut with a 1-meter shorter turn radius. Combining three different turn radii in one ski generally results in extremely versatile turning behavior. The new 16-meter waist radius further enhances the radius variability. This ski will particularly appeal to those who love tight, carved turns and mastering maximum edge pressure. Not only does it allow for a particularly sporty and intuitive riding style on groomed slopes, but it also guarantees the maneuverability needed to make better progress through demanding off-piste slopes. The shorter waist radius also allows the skier to exert less effort. This season, the Kendo 88 will now be equipped with Tailored Carbon Tip tips and a Tailored Titanal frame. So there's no longer any doubt: the Kendo is synonymous with guaranteed skiing fun. Tailored Technologies – exclusively used by Völkl The Tailored Titanal Frame, which equips the Mantra, Secret, Kendo and Kenja, is a further development of the previous Titanal frame. This design allows the width of the Titanal upper chord to be adapted to the ski length. The resulting torsional stiffness and damping properties can thus be tuned to the specific needs of the skier. Since smaller skis have a smaller Titanal content, even the smallest and lightest among us will be able to get the most out of these skis with minimal effort. The Kendo 88 offers an extremely versatile range of uses, particularly thanks to its new Tailored Carbon Tip tips. Carbon fibers applied using Tailored Fiber Placement (TFP) allow for optimal control of turning behavior. The thickness and arrangement of the fibers determine the required force level and energy storage in the precise areas where it is needed. The high agility provided by the tip effect is particularly beneficial here. This means that this ski allows for easy and controlled turning from the start of the turn. You almost just have to imagine the change of direction, and that's it! This design also allows for a lightweight ski without sacrificing any stability. The new Kendo 88 with tip and tail rocker also features the proven multi-layer wood core combined with a full-length sidewall and a P-Tex 2100 coating.
