Lightweight and durable, the Atomic Backland Summit 12 BR binding is a versatile ski touring model designed for committed ski tourers who crave adventure on all types of terrain. Exclusive to this binding, our release adjustment system offers release values up to 12 for reliable operation, optimal security, and superior performance. The AutoFlex system features a spring under the heel mechanism that automatically provides 5 mm of travel between the toe and heel during the arc of a turn. The result is an easy-to-use binding that provides elasticity to support the ski's natural flex while increasing shock absorption and improving security. The patented step-in assist system guides the boot perfectly into position, while the toe-up mechanism easily adjusts to 0°, 7°, or 13° with a simple flick of the ski pole. The touring brakes incorporate a lockout system that switches between touring and skiing mode. The toe and heel piece use high-performance PA material reinforced with fiberglass for a lightweight binding on the climb that remains strong and reliable on the descent.
