Dedicated to female skiers seeking freeride adventure, the ambitious Atomic Backland 101 W is designed to explore, climb, and descend with confidence. Featuring the same construction as the wider Backland 108 W, the ski uses the FreeTour Profile to create a touring ski with plenty of power on the descent. An Ultra Light Woodcore of poplar and caruba wood strikes the ideal balance between low weight and optimal performance, while the three-dimensional HRZN 3D tip increases surface area for improved floatation in deep snow. Powder Rocker offers a pronounced tip and tail, with camber underfoot for effortless and playful maneuverability in powder, as well as choppy and crusty snow. A reinterpretation of the original Backland, this ski is made with more low-carbon raw materials, more wood, and less fiberglass, metal, and resin, to reduce equivalent CO2 emissions by 26% (compared to the Backland 100, 2022). The Backland 101 W was developed with the help of skiers like Amie Engerbretson. It's the ski's sensational performance and uphill efficiency that motivate her to push herself further.
